Wow, the last post was full of loving comments.
THANK YOU ... THANK YOU ... THANK YOU.
It was very nice meeting our wonderful social worker, who will go by first name only here on the blog: Cindy.
In fact, her children previously went to the the preschool where I work! God works in interesting ways!
She is a very nice, personable lady, and we have really enjoyed meeting her. She has gone out of her way to help us, and make us feel comfortable.
I was not nervous before she came, and was suddenly nervous when she walked in the first time.
My Kevin did very well. I think he too may have been a little nervous though, because after the fact he keeps saying "I hope she liked us." and "I hope we pass so we can have our child home".
He recently helped create the nursery (we have *started* decorating it ) and he keeps talking about the baby's room with a twinkle in his eye.
Gd bless him, though he may be nervous he is also very excited and wants this very much. I love that guy.
Thankfully, the second visit was a breeze for me. And that is when she toured the house which I cleaned and decorated. That was nice.
Anyone want to stop by to see my scrubbed floor boards? LOL...yes I went on my whirlwind cleaning spree...
Cindy said I am "neat and tidy" and she liked the layout of the house, the size of the yard, and the size of the baby's room, as well as the county we live in and our neighborhood.
Again thank you for the loving support and prayers everyone, Kevin and I have a lot of people who love us out there, and we feel the same about you!!!! xoxox!!!!
Blessings, Lynette

Home Study Or Bust!!
We are on our way!!
Our social worker called today and set our first appointment.
It is next week so you know who will be organizing and cleaning like a wild woman.
Or as my husband said, I will be "neurotic", ummm, gee, thanks.
I am very excited that she will be coming here, it will be nice to meet her, and we will be interviewed separately and together, and she will be doing a tour of the house.
Needless to say, I will be very unavailable the coming 4 days while I prepare!!!! The place is a wee bit disheveled right now. LOL.
ciao.

white-out woes
I was picking up the medical paper work today only to find that items on both mine and Kevin's documents were whited-out.
woe is me, woe is me, this is a notarized document and it will be part of our official dossier, and it canNOT be whited-out in anyway shape or form.
Plus one of the documents needed was not provided by the doctor's staff, so I had to remind them to add that as well.
...back to the office early next week!!
All of you adopting families out there, check your medical documents carefully. ;)

home study on the horizon
short, sweet update:
We've received the invoice for our home study, are putting together the 2600 dollar payment fee, and will be mailing that out tomorrow to Holt's Oregon HQ.
This week we have to do-over one of the blood tests that lab corp had actually forgotten to do on the last visit. (big sigh)
Then our Social Worker should soon be in touch to set the date for the home study.
Reviewing and preparing more as we get ready to really delve into the actual Dossier section of the process.
Blessings, Lynette
