The China Team at Holt has requested "passport type" images for one of their needs.
Can I tell you, it is not fun trying to get a decent looking passport style image?!
>>straight on, white background, SO unattractive.<<
we did our best.
sigh.
BUT the saving grace is that I ADORE the "family" picture we sent.
Here it is:
They suggest not including your animals, if we could have it would have been a huddle pic of us, the cat, and the dog. LOL
But we both like the one we picked anyway.

Yard Sale Postponed Due to Rain
The Adoption Fundraiser Yard Sale has been postponed due to rain (even though it now looks like there will be no rain all day according to the weather website...LOL...it certainly appeared like it would be *VERY* wet as of last night).
PLEASE DONATE! You can drop items off to me if you would like to donate your "stuff".
Dropping off donations:
- You have the week ahead to do so.
- Friends of KOKS, I can meet you at the lot on weekdays at 12 noon and tuck items into my car.
- Friends closer to home, I can meet you at the church to collect your items, so contact me and we can make a plan.
Profits from the sale of your items (which will be sold at the church's tables) go to the adoption fund!! (note that sales from people's private tables go directly to those people)
We hope you will come by to support all of us on Sat. October 1: 9-3 to buy something cool at the sale!!
here at our church, Calvary Baptist Church in Oceanport:
1305 Eatontown Blvd. Oceanport, NJ. THANKS!! Blessings, Lynette

while we wait: BIG NEWS!
We received a special email from our dear Murielle at the Holt NJ office.
Murielle has been wonderful to us all along the way, and we are so thankful to her.
Cindy, our social worker, has been awesome. She has done a lot of work to get us to where we are....And there are other wonderful people at Holt in NJ and Oregon as well, who have helped us, and shared in our journey.
We are now one more BIG step forward in the process thanks to these aforementioned people, and the "China Team" in Oregon.
Please watch the video which we made after reading our email today, and "Raise a glass with us! CHEERS!!"
(Do I really look like that? Oh my!...)
Blessings, Lynette

Provisional Approval
we are "provisionally approved" with the China Team at our agency, at the headquarters in Oregon. That means we are some more steps in the very right direction: i's are being dotted, t's are being crossed for the upcoming final acceptance of home study by the China Team.
Once the actual approval is made we can do the next BIG bit of paper work. Then it all goes to The People's Republic of China.
It all takes lots of time, but the provisional approval is music to my ears.
Once I FINALLY have the corrected birth records back, then I can move onto doing the passport application.
This paper work headache is my morning sickness. When does it end because I am sure that I am well beyond the first trimester?
Blessings, Lynette

Now, if only Trenton would do their job and send me my birth record with the CORRECT SPELLING OF MY NAME then I could move forward with the Dossier!

R U New 2 the Blog?
Been here before? This is same old, same old, so feel free to skip it.
New around here?
Here is the 411:
cutting to the chase...we are Kev and Lynette.
Lynette is unable to have children on her own, though she has always wanted to be a mom, and has always dreamed of adopting a child.
After MUCH soul searching, research, prayer...etc...We have been led by Jesus Christ to follow the path of adopting an orphan who otherwise would grow older in an orphanage-system in a world far away. We clearly have been led to adopt a child in China in the special needs program.
If you have questions about how we got to this point, "why China", etc, I lovingly invite you to read our blog archives which has so many great stories and facts and figures. :)
In the meantime, (like so many others adopting both internationally and domestically) we are working hard daily to fund our adoption since the total adoption-process-fees will be over-30,000-dollars.
Make no mistake we are not rich... nope....not even close.
Kevin and Lynette (that's us) are both working very hard, many hours, to bring our little love home from China!!
This is the general information that we understand to be true according to the program we are in at Holt International, Child of Promise program: Our child will have a "manageable or correctable special need". He or she will be a toddler. He or she will come home to us sometime in 2012, probably summer time (give or take)
Please pray for our adoption, our baby, and his or her birth-family. Thank you.
Thanks for stopping by, ya'll come back.
