Authentications are DONE!!

The authenticated docs arrived tonight from the China Consulate.

I have been waiting a long time to say that.

It has been a doozy of an afternoon and evening, but now I can celebrate the authentication process being DONE! Now that is what I call a silver lining.

  1. Wonderful! Congratulations :) Now bring on he DTC, the LID, and LOA and all the other A's! We're right behind you! As for he packages we've sent, we've had to follow strict guidelines based on Ha*g* regs under the foster home's sponsorship program rather than as prospective adoptive parents sending packages. Does that make sense? Definitely no pictures until after PA. Also, no personal information can be exchanged to protect the children and prospective adoptive parents so all updates been from what we've found through their postings on their website.

  2. Hi Lynette!

Nice to "meet" you! I haven't had time (ha!) to read much of your blog. Your daughter is absolutely a cutie patootie! What is her "special need"? What province is she in? I will definitely watch your progress. If you have any questions, please ask.

    1. :) Hi!! Our girl (who we have named Phoebe) is in Hunan province. She started out in an swi, but is in a foster care home. Her special need is that she is missing two fingers on her right hand. Plus, we have to have the remaining 2 fingers and thumb checked by a pediatric plastic surgeon when she gets here because it is hard to tell from pictures what is really going on. They have to see what is going on with her bones, and let us know if there is anything that should be done with her two nubs. The paper work we received did not mention the following, but the adoption doctor in the US (Dr springer, Kids plus in Pittsburgh) found that she has thalassemia minor (a blood disorder); by reading the blood work results. We love Dr Springer. She is too far from NJ to travel there, but she has been great via email. I'm so happy for your family, that you are now going back to China for a second time. Thanks, I will keep you in mind if I have questions. I am starting to think about travel-packing, so send along any advice! ;)
